Flow's Bad Reputation follows them to Boston
by: mtwalsh

Last time I saw Jeremy Thompson, Brandon Reis and Tim Humphreys, they were at Windells for their team session, terrorizing campers with the summer's best pranks. It was the hottest week of the season--if I recall correctly temps were around a balmy 109 each day, and Jeremy, Tim, Brandon and Windells counselor and fellow Flow rider, Jake Black were running amuck in the best way possible. Oh yeah, they ripped up the extra-slushy snow on the hill, too. If that week is any representation of how these guys throw down both in and out of their snowboard boots, then the premiere of Bad Reputation and the subsequent after party will be nothing short of fantastic. Come down to Boston and check out the good time.

As an added bonus, a little from last summer:

Brandon Reis got one of those extra stylish July of '09 upper calf tans his first day on hill during heat week at Windells.

Brandon and Marc-Andre Tarte get ready to hose some campers.

Humphreys dousing the unsuspecting dinner line.

Over the course of the session, one cabin engaged in a color war of sorts with the Flow team. This was the end result of said war. One camper was really mad, but it was hilarious for everyone else. The best part is that campers aren't allowed on the roof, so there was no way to get anything down and the counselors were way too busy laughing to help out. And that's why they say summer camp builds character.

Two days of premieres in SoCal featuring 'Cool Story' and 'Parkumentary'
by: mtwalsh

Think Thank, Big Bear and Arbor are hosting a two day premiere this weekend, featuring Cool Story and Parkumentary. I'm stuck on the East Coast patiently waiting for opening day at my local hill, but if I was near SoCal I would go. I mean, it's sponsored by PBR. Isn't that enough reason? Oh yeah, the movies are pretty darn good too. If you haven't seen Cool Story yet, get down to Arbor's HQ and check it out!

Burlington bleeds green for Halloween
by: mtwalsh

It's good to get a head start on things, so when Forum decided to kick of Halloween in lime green tones on with a premiere of Forever on Friday, October 30th, as the start of Halloween weekend, the cityfolk of Burlington rejoiced. There was much less rejoicing on Halloween the next morning, though, seeing as most everyone was completely beat from Friday night. That's ok though.

Costumes were, in all seriousness, amazing, and there was a surprising lack of the stereotypical "slutty _____" costume in favor of wackiness and creativity. There was a box of Franzia wine, two groups of ladies dressed as variations of KISS, a Where the Wild Things Are Max onesie, a very convincing Danzig get up and an incredible Carol (also from Where the Wild Things Are) costume. And all were handmade.

Parima Thai restaurant played host to the premiere, serving up Red Bull Cola and whiskeys as quickly as possible to the thirsty crowd. The night went off in Halloween-fashion, with a monster mash-esque dance party and a subsequent dance off for a Forum Forever snowboard. Pictures tell the story way better when there's costumes concerned, so check here for the photos by Alex Rice.

Dangerzone Episode 2: This is Halloween

Dangerzone Episode 2: Thi…

by: mtwalsh

I don't really know the exact details of how global warming effects different regions of North America. I have been told by people that New England will be like SoCal in a couple months or years or something, but I have no empirical (or non-empirical for that matter) evidence to support this notion. Regardless, the weather each season seems weirder and more surprising than the last.

This week in Tahoe, where the venerable Tahoe Dangerzone crew of Nick Visconti and Joshua Parker reside, there was a less than ideal amount of snow but Nick and Parker didn't let that deter their dreams …
