The sun is shining, you’re lighting up the barbeque, sitting on the porch with a drink in your hand, and wondering if you should break out your cut-offs….Well, put your longboard away, buddy, there’s snow in New Hampshire and Loon Mountain is about to send winter packing with a brand new, end of season throwdown: Street Cred.

Loon, Red Bull, Forum Snowboards and Oakley are giving winter the heave-ho the only way the East Coast knows how, with a springtime contest to end all springtime contests. Norton and the crew are building brand new street features to wet your ‘boardin’ whistle before the snow fully melts away, Bonjour-Hi will be playing tunes, and the Loon crew will be manning the bbq, serving up all the hot dogs you can eat while making laps on the set up. Just be sure to watch out for errant snowballs that are sure to come from at least one spectator or judge.

Solely for Street Cred, Loon has partnered with Red Bull to create brand new, iconic street features that will be set up in Loon’s signature, creative, skatepark-infused style. The result will be a park like the East has never before seen: transitions on transitions, lines on lines, and a mind-bending blend of street features in a skate plaza set up. One huge, no-holds-barred, open jam, with time to lap the chairlift, will give plenty of opportunity to drop hams and prove whose skills are legit enough to claim Street Cred.

Over 2,000 dollars in total prize money will be offered up for the winners, as well as prizes from Forum and Oakley. Registration is at 10am in the Bunyan Room and costs 20 dollars, with all the money being added to the existing cash purse.

It’s your last chance of the season to prove to your friends that you’ve got that switch backlip on lock and to txt your local rep that you placed top three so he keeps you hooked up. Get to Loon on Saturday, March 31st for a brand new set up, fun boarding, friends, hot dogs, and the best way to close the 2012 season off at Street Cred.
